Understanding Bourdieu

Recently, I read a book called Understanding Bourdieu. It is written by Jen Webb, Tony Schirato and Geoff Danaher. Jen Webb is a program director of writing in the university of culture study.
This book is talk about the culture study. Cultural studies is not a simple thing. It is a very complex phenomenon between history and discipline. Sometimes we just think culture study is about the different country’s history or custom. It is the traditional way to consider. However, we should from other aspects to free thought. We can develop this theme, and produce the new vocabularies and new modes of being professional within the field. Exploring the special and symbolic ways of the world and something is related to culture study. Then I think we can get another perfect result definitely.
The chapter 8 is called the field of cultural production. When we heard this we always will connect with art. However, author thinks it also can include government, economy, power and structure. One of the most interesting thing in it I think is author believe the culture is a game. It is unbelievable. I never have this opinion. But when I think carefully, it is the true. If we want win the game and get the high mark. We should know how to play it effectively. We should use different special thinking. So, culture is like a game. If we want to understand it thoroughly and all sided, we must to think twice.
The field of cultural production is showing us culture is a unifying thing, but it also a separate thing. Sometimes we talk about us, but us sometimes represent ourselves and others.
